The first exhibition after the extensive renovation of the Gasometer shows the beauty of nature and the influence of man on his environment. "The Fragile Paradise" takes visitors on a visually stunning journey through the turbulent climatic history of our earth and shows in impressive, award-winning photographs and videos how the animal and plant world is changing in times of the Anthropocene.

The Gasometer will remain closed to the public until spring 2021.
At the same time as the successful exhibition "Der Berg ruft" (The Mountain Calls) ended with more than 890,000 visitors, the refurbishment work started at the end of October 2019. The funding commitments from the federal government, the state and the Ruhr Regional Association make the extensive renovation possible.
